Welcome to our home.

We are so glad you decided to stay here, and we hope you have a great time in and around Palm Springs. We are happy to share our special getaway with you and truly hope you get to enjoy it as much as we do.

The view of the mountains is absolutely spectacular, and there are some fantastic restaurants in the neighborhood — our favorites are Cheeky's, Workshop Kitchen & Bar, and Chicken Ranch (more in the Explore guide).

This guide contains information about the house and area to help you enjoy your stay. You should find everything you need — but if you have a question that isn't covered here, please do get in touch and let us know how we can help. We hope you enjoy yourself and visit again in the future!

A few city steps, then the fun part.

Palm Springs asks every vacation rental to complete a few simple steps for each stay. They only take a few minutes, and they're a big part of why this neighborhood stays so quiet and lovely. After you book, we'll send you a private link where you can do it all online.

  • The guest who booked signs our rental agreement before check-in.
  • With it, you'll acknowledge the city's Good Neighbor Brochure, which we'll send along.
  • We'll ask for a copy of a government ID and the name of everyone staying with you.
  • Every adult in your group signs the city's Vacation Rental Statement of Rules and Regulations. A copy stays at the house for your whole stay.
  • Before you arrive or within 24 hours of check-in, we'll go over the rules with you in person or on a quick video call.

Once everyone has signed, we'll send your door code through Airbnb messages. Then all that's left is to enjoy the view.

House rules.

Pets

  • One pre-approved pet is welcome, with a $99 pet fee charged through Airbnb. Service animals are always welcome, with no fee.
  • The backyard is fully fenced, so dogs can play on the lawn. Keep in mind the pool has no separate fence.
  • No pets on the furniture, and no pets left unattended.
  • Pet bowls are located under the kitchen sink — please don't use the kitchenware bowls.
  • Please clean up after your pet, inside and out; any pet damage will be charged.

Smoking

  • No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, inside or outside.

Registered guests

  • Up to 8 guests. Only the guests listed on your rental agreement may stay overnight.
  • Daytime visitors need our approval in advance.

Pool

  • The backyard is fully fenced, but the pool and hot tub have no separate fence or gate. Doors to the pool have alarms that sound when they're opened.
  • Please supervise children at all times. The very shallow sun shelf is perfect for little ones, with a grown-up close by.
  • Shallow pool — no diving!
  • Only use plastic cups and dishes around the pool area.

Sound and parties

  • Quiet hours are 10 PM – 10 AM.
  • Per city ordinance, no outdoor music or amplified sound is allowed at any time — even from a cell phone. The city issues the guest a $500 citation.
  • No parties, gatherings, or events of any kind, per city ordinance.
Thank you for your understanding — these city rules keep our quiet neighborhood wonderful for everyone.

How everything works.

Everything you need to run the house, from the thermostat to the fire pit. If something isn't covered here, message us in the Airbnb app.

Wi-Fi.

The network name and password are in your Airbnb arrival guide.

Troubleshooting the eero

  • Red light: please restart the device.
  • Solid white light: working properly.
  • Blinking white light: connecting; give it up to one minute.

If you're having Wi-Fi issues, reset the eero by unplugging it, waiting 10 seconds, and plugging it back in. You can do the same with the router (please don't touch the cables). If that doesn't work, message us in the Airbnb app.

AC and heating.

Feel free to adjust the temperature to your comfort using the thermostat in the hallway. To adjust, select cool or heat and set your desired temperature. The casita has its own air conditioning, separate from the main house.

Thermostat tips

  • To wake the thermostat, tap on the right side.
  • Swipe up or down on the right side to adjust the temperature.
  • To open the menu and change the mode, tap the right side again.

Please don't set the thermostat below 70°F. It doesn't cool the house faster, and it puts the air conditioner at risk of freezing over. If that happens, the unit needs up to 12 hours to defrost before it works again. Please also turn the AC off when leaving doors open or when you head out. Thank you!

Pool and hot tub.

Hot tub

Hot tub heating is complimentary. The hot tub controller is on the wall closest to the hot tub.

Pool heating

Pool heating is $119 per night. Please request it before you arrive, since the pool takes time to warm up. Message us in the Airbnb app with the dates you'd like, and we'll send a payment request through Airbnb. We turn the heater on as soon as it's paid.

Pool safety

The backyard is fully fenced, but the pool and hot tub have no separate fence or gate. Doors to the pool have alarms. The pool is shallow, so no diving, and please supervise children at all times. Plastic cups and dishes only around the pool.

TVs and remotes.

Every TV remote is in its room. Please follow the on-screen instructions for the TVs. If a remote is acting up, changing the batteries usually does the trick; spare batteries are in the kitchen drawers.

Grill, fire pit and outdoor lighting.

Grill (gas)

  • Turn the gas knob counter-clockwise to turn on the gas.
  • Once the gas is on, turn on the grill with the knobs and use an igniter to light the flame.
  • Please turn the gas off when you're done, and clean the grill after use.

Fire pit

  • Turn the key lever clockwise and carefully use the long stick lighter (in the kitchen) to light.
  • Turn the fire pit completely off when you're done and before leaving the house. Please use extreme caution with the gas.

Landscape lighting

The landscape lights are controlled from the black “Hampton Bay” timer box at the back of the casita. They come on at dusk and go off around 11 PM. Message us if you'd like the timing adjusted.

Casita lighting

The control for the light on the casita's ceiling fan is on the wall, next to the light switch.

Linens, laundry and supplies.

Extra linens

Extra pillows and comforters are in the closets and cupboards throughout the home.

Washer and dryer

The washer and dryer are yours to use, and we've left detergent in case you need to do laundry during your stay.

Starter supplies

We've left a starter kit of supplies for you: paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher detergent, sponges, dish soap, bathroom amenities, feminine hygiene products, and laundry detergent.

For little ones

A pack 'n play is in the primary bedroom.

Trash and vendor visits.

Trash and recycling

  • Trash pickup is every Monday (walk-up service).
  • Bins are on the side of the house: green for trash, blue for recycling, brown for compost.

Vendor visits

  • Pool service: Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Landscaping: Thursdays.

Visit times depend on our vendors' schedules. They keep the home beautiful for your stay, and we appreciate your understanding!

Utilities.

Breaker panels

  • If you ever have trouble with the power, the breaker panel is in the backyard.
  • The casita has a separate panel on the side wall facing the front yard.
  • The main house has a separate panel on the corner of the house off the primary bedroom.
  • Please use caution when resetting a breaker.

Water shutoff

If you need to shut the water off for any reason, the shutoff valve is on the side of the house opposite the garage, across from the gate.

Emergency info.

  • Emergency: 911
  • Non-emergency police: (760) 391-4051
  • Hospital: Desert Regional Medical Center, 150 N Indian Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92262, (760) 323-6511
  • Veterinary: VCA Desert Animal Hospital, 4299 Ramon Rd, Palm Springs, CA 92264, (760) 778-9999
  • First aid kit: under the kitchen sink

Checkout.

Checkout is at 11:00 AM. Before you go:

  • Take the trash and recycling out to the bins on the side of the house.
  • Turn off the AC or heat.
  • Turn off the fire pit and the grill, including the gas.
  • Lock all doors and windows, including the casita.
  • Do a final check for your belongings.
